Adhesion and Bond Tests

Independent testing has shown that the Hardide coating adhesion bond strength is better than 70 MPa or 10,000 psi. This limit is the ultimate strength of the epoxy adhesive used in the ASTM C633 bond strength testing.

The images below illustrate the coating's ability to survive impact, significant substrate deformations and shock loads without spalling or cracking.

Impact Resistant Coating

Micro-photographs of a 1 mm diameter indentation (left) and the scratch test (right) of 50 microns thick Hardide-T coating on steel to test adhesion and toughness. There is no cracking, chipping, spalling, flaking or separation of the coating from the substrate.
